Dating back to the 9th century, Bonifacio is a must visit fortified town located on a limestone cliff in Corsica. Named after its founder Bonifazio, the Marquis of Tuscany, this town is a haven for the ones who prefer to live amid old world glory. Get lost in the appealing maze of medieval lanes flanked by old houses and mansions. Do visit Eglise Sainte-Marie-Majeure, the church which was built between the 12th and 13th century. Then you can head towards Eglise Saint-Dominique, a Gothic church dating back to the same timeline as the previous one. The town is also graced by few beautiful beaches and Corsica's largest nature reserve Bouches de Bonifacio. So you know you have to be here!
