As the city straddles on seven hills, there are several natural spots, tower platforms and building roofs open to public for enjoying spectacular views of the urban tapestry below. From the top of the arched towers at Praco do Comercio, it is possible to get a good vista of the riverfront locale and the Lisbon Bridge while the upper platform of a city tower accessible by taking the 20th century Elevador de Santa Justa grants a close sight of some eclectic Lisbon suburbs—Baxia, Rossio and Chiado. Great views are available from Castelo de Sao Jorge and Portas do Sol, both spots dotting along tram number 28 route. Also as part of public transportation, there are funiculars that hike to some spectacular belvederes from where the vista of the urban silhouette is breathtaking.
