For a traveller who understands the value of heritage and appreciates it, Hotel Raquel can do a fine job in reinstating their faith in it. Built as a storage warehouse in 1908, the hotels is an Art Deco gem which was restored in 2003. Located at a corner of a quiet street in Old Havana, Hotel Raquel is close to tourist attractions like Plaza de San Francisco and Plaza Vieja. Accommodation is provided in 20-plus rooms that are spread across three floors, each of which has been decorated with vintage wood and wrought iron furniture and beautiful fabrics that remind a guest of the days when the building was a textile warehouse. The entire building stands in the form of a cultural depository, displaying different genres and styles of art. While one gets to witness a strong witness of art-nouveau architecture all over the building, the facade serves as a fine example of baroque.
