Glacier fed Bow River, slices through the town of Banff, rendering a magical charm and hosting the activities avalanche. Sitting on the edge of the downtown, the Bow River waterfront provides a fairly long Nature walk. Bow River offers an idyllic picnic day, go just saunter through its pathways, soak some summer sun, dabble at fishing along its shores or engage in some adventures in its mild waters. Do walk up to the Bow Falls, not very spectacular in its drop, but then emanates the rhetoric ‘how many waterfalls reside in a town.’ Opportunities for solitude do exist at dusk and dawn, with fellow beings amiss; giving you company could still be the demure Elk Couple.
The Banff Canoe Club will host your ventures into the waters of the Bow River. The Voyageur Canoe Tour lets you paddle in unison with your tour guide and family, and whilst the guide entertains you with the local folklore, the vistas enthral your senses with their unmatched splendour. Want to up the ante? Paddle-up a canoe or kayak all by yourself. Sail through its diffident waters along the Forty Mile Creek, reach the Vermillion Lake, for the reflection of Mount Rundle in its coy waters is a sight hard to forget.
