A 30-storey skyscraper, it is located in the Gutleutviertel district of Frankfurt. Completed in 2004 and designed by two architects Schneider & Schumacher, it means ‘West Port Tower.’ It is one of the first buildings at the former West Port. Westhafen Tower is located near Frankfurt Central Station. It is at a walking distance from the main station. You can also reach here by bus or tram.
The unusual design element of the building reduces the energy consumption of the Towers. It is shaped like a cylinder, but the storeys are squareshaped. The glass facade of the building resembles the shape of a Frankfurtian glass. It is for this reason, that it is also known as das Gerippte meaning, "the Rhombic.”
The building has winter gardens, which create a better indoor temperature. There is also full climate control. The building also makes use of water from the Main River to cool the building.
From this building, you can enjoy views of Frankfurt skyline and the Main River. The building is just 5 minutes away from the main train station. Also, it is in close proximity to world-class hotels like Hotel Inter-Continental, and Le Méridien Park Hotel.
It is one of the stunning, high-rise buildings you can add to your list of sightseeing when strolling along the Main River. Restaurants, shops, and specialty stores are all located within one to ten minutes of walk. Some nearby attractions are Baseler Platz, Münchner Straße, and Kaiserstraße.
