Take a riverfront walk – Sisowath Quay in Phnom Penh is the most westernised part of the capital. The promenade which runs along the Tonle Sap is a great stretch for taking a stroll on the last day before catching a flight back home. The cool breeze from the lake will make you forget about the heat and humidity of the countryside. Take a leisurely walk, and reminisce over the Khmer history and nation's recent tragedies. The road across the promenade is lined with bars and restaurants. Take a water front seat and look at the world go by while sipping over chilled Cambodia Beer. The French legacy is quite evident in the food served at the riverfront restaurants – delicious Khmer staples laid out in French Nouvelle cuisine style is absolutely divine. It is easy to find a bottle of French red Bordeaux than a cappuccino in this part of Sisowath Quay. If you have an evening to spare, head to Foreign Correspondence Club (FCC). The rooftop bar is a perfect place to unwind over cocktails while watching the last sunset of the trip!
