If camping and wilderness isn’t your thing, but you are feeling the need to get out of Winnipeg for the weekend, why not head to the second biggest city in Manitoba, Brandon. One of the most popular attractions here is the Commonwealth Air Museum located at the Brandon Airport. It is the only museum in the world dedicated to those who trained under the Commonwealth Air Training Plan, and for anyone who is interested in history, this is a must. Another popular attraction is the Shady Lane Tea House where you can grab a piece of delicious fresh fudge, and tour the carousels and doll museum. Many people that stay in Brandon for the weekend also make a trip to Souris to see the famous swinging bridge. It is the longest swinging bridge in Canada, measuring 582 ft long, the original was washed away in the 1976 flood, but a replacement has been built and still stands today. There are plenty of hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts, and a campground for accommodation choice. Also, one can find numerous restaurants throughout the city for some delicious food.
