Calgary sure loves its sports, from hockey in the winter to football in the summer. There is no better place to feel like a local than at McMahon stadium when the Calgary Stampeders are playing a game. Luckily for visitors the stadium is located right near downtown Calgary, between the downtown core and the University, making it easy to get to for visitors. One of the coolest facts about this stadium is that it was built in just 103 days in 1960, a huge feat at the time. Today it is the 5th largest stadium in Canada and hosts a variety of sporting events. The Calgary Stampeders certainly draw in the largest crowd though, so make sure you grab some gear from the nearby fan shops to show your support. Watch as they take on opponents from coast to coast, grab a beer and food from one of the many vendors, and prepare to cheer as loud as the locals. We do have to warn you though; the stadium is not covered so make sure you bring a rain jacket if the skies look dark!
