Raffles Hotel Le Royal has long been a must-see in Phnom Penh. Whether one wants to stay for a few nights in the lap of luxury or just enjoy a drink—each moment is memorable. Raffles has a chain of hotels all over the world including its first in Singapore, a classic Colonial splendour. The one in Phnom Penh is nestled in the old quarter, just down the road from Wat Phnom. Guests are welcomed by staff in traditional dress and escorted to the grand foyer. Fresh flowers and traditional music fill up the marble-clad foyer. Columns give a grand statement, and cool hand towels and welcome drinks make the entry all the more satisfying compared to the hot dusty city outside. Rooms are beautifully designed and reflect a seamless blend of Khmer, Art Deco and French Colonial architecture. One of the best things about Raffles Hotel Le Royal is the pool, a lagoon surrounded by frangipani trees. Drinks and food are served by the pool or you can step into the Elephant Bar and enjoy one of their many cocktails. We recommend Femme Fatale, named after Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis who once visited Phnom Penh and stayed at this luxury hotel.
