A bright brick-coloured building of Museum Tinguely on the Rhine is a tribute to one of the most avant-garde Swiss painters and sculptors Jean Tinguely. Built by the famous Swiss architect Mario Botta, the museum itself is a work of art, worthy of the exhibits inside. It showcases quirky and fascinating kinetic artworks of Tinguely, a follower of Dada tradition. Be it a sculpture, installation, fist-sized creation or one that occupies a whole room, each of the exhibits (also called metamechanics) is entirely interactive and can be activated by a touch of a button. And some of them can be downright scary like a petite and harmless vintage refrigerator which sets off a deafening and screeching fire alarm when you open the door!
