If you are travelling with young kids, then Bondla Wildlife Sanctuary should be a must visit on your itinerary. In a relatively small area, it has a mini zoo showcasing flora and fauna that is found across Goa. Except Mondays, it is open all days between 9 am and 5 pm. Special fenced enclosures keep big ones like bisons, black bears, tigers, crocodiles, wild boars and leopards at a safe distance. Goa has a variety of snakes such as pythons and king cobras. You could see these inside glass or fenced enclosures. A few colourful birds too make it to the list. Besides, an elephant camp might fancy you too. This facility remains open between 10:30 am to 5 pm. Bondla Zoo is an incredibly popular spot for local schools to bring their students to. So, don't be surprised if you are surrounded by curious kids vying for a closer look of that tiger. The zoo has a Bamboo Canteen offering refreshments.
Though Bondla is popular for its zoological park, it also offers a trail of 5 km split in two directions. The shorter one takes you from Bondla WLS to Labour Colony while the longer one of 3 km to Shivde Gate, Dharbandora. If you wish to stay overnight, the sanctuary offers eco-tourism cottages.
