A ten minute walk from the historical district of Riga, the Jugenda Stila Nami is for those who love architecture. Built entirely in the Art Nouveau and Jugend styles this area of Riga has intricate facades fascinating to behold. Buildings are covered in intricate designs: female nude forms and lions stand out against bright colors along white decorations. There are over 700 buildings to behold in this small district.
The district is one many tourists miss, and has a fascinating history. During the Soviet occupation many of the buildings were nationalized and were filled with families until they were once more privatized. This area also has great traditional Latvian cuisine. The beautiful Albert Hotel has a restaurant on top with a panoramic view of the city. Even if you’re not looking for a meal, it’s a great spot to visit.
