The City of Arts and Sciences, something surprising to come across in Valencia, is a futuristic and fantastic looking complex with great emphasis on aesthetics. Amidst heritage structures and old world charm, the complex looks a bit out of place, but has a charm of its own. It is a sprawling complex of buildings housing a science museum, planetarium, aquarium and other structures, each of which can easily take up half a day to explore. In between water bodies, an echo element and other interesting features make wandering around the place a memorable experience. By far the most fascinating place here is the Oceanogràfic (the aquarium that houses over 500 marine species and is believed to be the largest aquarium in Europe).
