Admiring the beauty of the city sitting by the riverside is something that everyone must try. The joy of watching and being watched is second to none! Be it summers or winters, the Rhine River entices Dusseldorfers alongside its long promenade. It is a traffic-free zone and mostly a pedestrian area where you can walk, cycle, skate or just sit on the grass and soak in nature’s beauty. Many amateur artists also perform here, especially near Schlossturm (Castle Tower) where there are many steps and a large area, resembling an amphitheatre. Sometimes, you also get to see second-hand book sales and some promotional stalls lined up here.
There are many bars along this fabulous riverside offering an excellent view. If you wish for a little more than just drinks, the restaurants here serve good food. Or, if you want to grab a waffle or crepe while enjoying your long walk, you could pit stop at any of the waffle stalls. These aside, you could take a cruise from here!
