It’s a tiered waterfall close to 170-190 m in height and provides a stupendous beauty of surrounding canyon all around its vista. The fall lies at a distance of 15 km from Cherrapunjee towards Shillong. The fall becomes completely invisible during the winter months with thin streams of water creating a pattern reminiscent of the crisscross pattern of the hair strands at the back of a woman’s head. The beauty of this fall comes alive during the monsoon months as the garrulous water makes its way through huge boulders and vegetation in and around the canyon. Sometimes heavy mist envelops the entire canyon and sighting the waterfall turns into a peek-a- boo through the dense layer. One needs to have a bit of luck and patience to witness its full glory. There are some good viewpoints all around the canyon to witness the magnificence of this waterfall.
