The Purana Quila fort is just that, one of the oldest fort in Delhi. Just off the National Zoological Park, facing Pragati Maidan, the Purana Quila lakes are a fantastic destination to take the kids boating. Ideal in summers although winters sees frequent visits from a variety of birds that add to the sheer thrill of being afloat or the experience of maneuvering the boat oneself.

If you are still planning your itinerary, you can club the boating experience after spending the first half of the day at the zoo that is a quick five minute ride away.
