Bali's verdant green interior might come as a bit of a surprise on the drive in from the tropical coastline, but there's every chance you're going to run out of words for the colour green on your journey inland. You'll be heading towards one of the greenest places you may ever go: Jatiluwih. It's not the town that's green; it's the rice terraces that seem to be splashed in green. The rice plants in the paddies here grow thick and tall, at 700 metres above sea level. Owing to the terraces' location that is away from the heavily touristy coastline, it offers something of a cultural bounty as well.
