The souks of Marrakech are bound to get you all hot and bothered. Of course, everyone has varying thresholds but hectic activity in Moroccan souks can leave even the most patient travellers dumbstruck. When you want to escape the madness, head to one of the many parks in the city. The lungs of the city provide the perfect excuse for a picnic or a quiet afternoon nap. Make your choice based on your budget and personal preference.
Jardin Majorelle is one of the most visited sites in Morocco. It was designed by famed French designer Jacques Majorelle and gifted to the city of Marrakech by none other than fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. This heavily landscaped garden is reminiscent of paradise. Giant cacti dilly-dally with perfectly shaped ponds. Bright-blue walls and fountains vie for the attention of passers-by. It’s tree-lined avenues lead to a handsome boutique overflowing with sumptuous coffee-table books and souvenirs.
