Word to the wise: Some paths hug sharp, steep cliffs and can be slippery when wet, so wear appropriate footwear.

Sydney boasts dozens of lovely walking tracks around the harbour and along the surrounding beaches. The 2.5km Bondi to Bronte walk (which plays host to the popular Sculpture by the Sea exhibition from Oct-Nov) is a favourite with the Eastern Suburbs set, while the 10km, three-hour Spit to Manly trek is better suited to serious walkers.
Wide promenades along Bondi, Balmoral and Manly beaches lend perfectly to lazy afternoon strolls (and cafe stops), while those seeking solitude may prefer the quiet bush track linking North Curl Curl with Dee Why, or the multiple nature walks around Pittwater.
Don't forget your camera, as you may spot dolphins, varied bird life and all manner of interesting reptiles en route.
