Perfect the art of tapas and wine pairing
Located in Gastown's historic Blood Alley (so-called for the former butcher shops housed here) most of the space of this small, intimate restaurant is taken up by a large communal dining table. If you don't fancy bumping elbows with strangers, there are some small independent seats at the bar, too.
The premise of Salt is to make a selection of cured meats, cheeses and condiments from the blackboard to be paired with a series of wines. You can select them yourself or leave it up to the capable staff, who always hit the mark. Wines are usually served first, so it's a struggle for some to resist quaffing them all before the food arrives. Salads and desserts are also available.
