Classic restaurant with long history and delicious Peking duck
The capital's most famous dish is without a doubt Beijing Duck, which historically is best enjoyed at the Quanjude Roast Duck Restaurant, established in 1864 and dating back to the Qing Dynasty. Foreign Heads of State have been brought here during official visits to China to enjoy a spectacular meal.
The chef will graciously slice the duck at your table, and it is even possible to get a bit of help making the perfect "duck pancake". Adventurous eaters can request a duck liver, tongue or heart in different shapes and flavours. In addition to the superb Beijing duck, 400 other dishes from all corners of China are offered here, such as turtle egg or shark fin soup. The restaurant occupies four floors and is decorated in classic Chinese interior. The noise level is high but the service impeccable.
