Buckhead's sweetheart sandwich shop with petits fours to boot
An Atlanta institution since 1969, Henri's is an old-school, bustling bakery amid all the hubbub of Buckhead's shopping and dining. Bakers behind the counter dole out traditional fancy cakes and sweets, but you're most likely to visit for a lunchtime sandwich. They'll whip you up anything you like in a jiffy, but there's no reason not to take the classic turkey po-boy, a Southern sandwich on French bread with said turkey, plus ham, salami, Swiss cheese and, the most indispensable item, the pickle. Egg salad and roast beef are other popular choices.
Take your sandwich to go or have a seat in the little casual cafe or on the outdoor patio. Of course, closing the lunch with a trademark thumbprint shortbread cookie (or three) is expected.
