Antoine's dates to 1840 and is the oldest restaurant in the United States to be continuously run by the same family. Over the years, it has functioned as a microcosm of New Orleans, its fluctuating popularity mirroring the rise and fall (and rise again) of the city itself.

Part restaurant, part museum, Antoine's is huge, with 14 dining rooms over two floors and walls adorned with historical curiosities and photographs of famous visitors past and present.
