Among the better jazz venues in the French Quarter

Word to the wise: Get a table and soak up the jazz and cocktails, but eat elsewhere to soak up the booze.

If truth be told, it's the music and the atmosphere that keeps people coming back to the Palm Court Jazz Cafe. While there are better places to eat for the prices charged here, there are few if any better places to snag a table, order a cocktail, and nod your head to jazz standards.

If the apparent formality of the tiled floor, more mature crowd and photographs of jazz legends puts you off, don't be fooled - many of those silver-haired diners will be out on the dance floor soon enough.
