Widely regarded as the most successful ongoing fundraising event in the history of the Los Angeles Unified School District, the Melrose Trading Post is an all-day event that takes place every Sunday - rain or shine - in the parking lot of Fairfax High School. Just off the main Melrose retail stretch, it's a great activity to tie in with a West Hollywood shopping trip.

Around 200 vendors gather to sell handmade jewellery, antique wares and vintage clothing and shoes at jaw-droppingly affordable prices. There's only a handful of food trucks huddled near the stage, but it's all hearty, delicious fare - from Argentinean barbecue to world-class crepes.
