Vast new shopping complex in the centre of town

Word to the wise: If you're after some travel reading, the American Bookstore has a huge selection of English language titles across all genres.

The shiny Galeria Krakowska shopping centre, adjacent to the main train station, is a modern glass and steel stucture packed with over 250 shops on three levels, offering designer fashion, homeware, cosmetics and electronics.

Don't expect cute little boutiques or authentic Polish crafts - it's all about the big names, including Benetton, Lacoste, H&M and Mango. You'll also find more than 20 cafés and restaurants, and a big Carrefour supermarket.
