The city's gourmet farmers' market
Word to the wise: This sprawling market climbs all the way to the Trocadero from where you'll get wonderful views of the Eiffel Tower.
Talk of the town: Around the corner from Pont de l'Alma, the tunnel on the left is where Princess Diana was tragically killed in a car crash in 1997.
This is the largest and probably the best farmers' market in Paris. Only a few minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower, it's where the owners of those sumptuous Georgian mansions shop for their organic produce and artisanal treats.
You can create the perfect luxury picnic from the stalls here. Producers come from the countryside to sell their homemade pâtés, cheeses, bread, wines, fruit and vegetables. The fishmongers are something special too, with oysters, lobsters and crabs direct from the coast of Brittany, and Joel Thiebault's vegetable stall supplies the city's best restaurants.
