Loosely comprised of the exclusive suburbs hugging the south-eastern shore of Sydney Harbour (from Elizabeth Bay to Watson's Bay) and extending east along the coastline (from Bondi to Maroubra), this is the domain of Sydney's filthy rich, a large chunk of the city's thriving gay community, a healthy smattering of hipsters and everybody else willing to fork out ludicrous rents for a slice of Sydney beach living.

While too scene-y for some people, this area of Sydney has much to offer visitors, from Double Bay's high-end boutiques to Bondi's excellent bars, Tamarama's surf, Bronte's cafes and Clovelly's famous beachside watering hole, The Clovelly Hotel. Just don't forget your designer shades.
