The city's shopping and entertainment hub
Noteworthy for: For the young and the young-at-heart, the Golden Triangle is home to Malaysia's largest indoor theme park, Cosmo's World.
This glittering heartland makes a strong case for Kuala Lumpur as one of South-East Asia's most decadent cities. Home to a swathe of five star hotels and several cavernous shopping malls (as well as a growing number of boutique lodgings and forward-thinking retail experiences), the district is where Malaysia's jet-set stays and plays. The Golden Triangle is also one of KL's main business centres, and its imposing skyscrapers—including the gargantuan Petronas Twin Towers—house a large portion of the city's white-collar workers.
At night, the area becomes the city's party headquarters, with a host of venues for both the ultra-rich and Kuala Lumpur's cool kids. A branch of Singapore's legendary Zouk nightclub features international DJs, while Luna's rooftop terrace—with its stunning views and swimming pool—is a perennial favourite among the city's elite.
