Sublime street market popular with locals and visitors

Word to the wise: Haggling is frowned upon for foodstuffs, but everything else is fair game.

Unlike many of KL's markets, which appeal to a narrow customer base (Chinese, Indian, Malay, tourists), the night market at Bangsar brings together locals of all stripes, as well as the area's large expat community, and a healthy dose of curious international visitors. The result is a vibrant shopping strip that really encapsulates the diversity of the city.

The huge selection of goods is the big attraction here, with hundreds of stalls selling electronics, cell phone accessories, street food and, of course, cheap clothes. Many of the locals come for the fruit and vegetables—they may be more expensive than the hypermarkets but they're much fresher.
