Operated in conjunction with the nearby Asian Civilisations Museum, Singapore's newest museum provides a fascinating insight into the living culture of Peranakan people in the region—and a refreshingly cool escape from the humid city streets.

Housed in a beautifully restored schoolhouse, the museum has 10 thematic galleries featuring more than 1,200 artefacts and a variety of multimedia exhibits providing an insight into Peranakan Chinese, Peranakan Indian and Jawi Peranakan traditions.
