Home of the city’s future
Noteworthy for: Saadiyat Island is home of the endangered hawksbill turtle. A boardwalk has been set up near their nesting grounds so visitors can watch them without disturbing their natural habitat.
In five years time, the developing Saadiyat and Yas Islands will be among the top destinations in the region. Saadiyat, is slated to become the cultural centre of the Middle East with the opening of the Louvre and the Guggenheim. Yas Island, meanwhile, has plans to house a conglomerate of theme parks.
Though both islands are far from complete, there's plenty for visitors to do. Nature lovers can explore the lush mangrove forests on Saadiyat’s east coast, while racing fans can catch the F1 at the Yas Island Circuit, or hit up Ferrari World. Golfers are well catered for at both islands, and luxury accommodation is never far away.
