The Michelin chef's low-key Atlantis trattoria

Noteworthy for: Giorgio Locatelli is a celebrated TV chef, who has received two Michelin stars in his career, and most recently won ‘The Birra Moretti Best Authentic Italian Restaurant Awards’ for Middle East and Africa.

The master chef Giorgio Locatelli has found his way to Dubai, setting up shop at Atlantis The Palm hotel with his restaurant Ronda Locatelli. The big wood-fired oven takes centre stage with perfectly gooey thin crust pizzas whizzing around the room.

It's all about proper Italian food here, using fresh ingredients. While pizza is the star of the show, they also do excellent risottos, pastas and desserts. The flashy decor is what you would expect at Atlantis, and though it is a bit more luxurious than your standard neighbourhood trattoria, the prices are reasonable for Dubai. Naturally, this makes it popular, so reservations are essential.
