Serving up delicacies from Rajasthan

Popular plate: Dal bati churma is a deliciously tactile dish. Break apart the earthy wheat dumplings with your hand and dunk them in the accompanying dal.

Manvaar has become a bit of an institution thanks to its superbly prepared Rajasthani specials. Dishes range from a piquant achari chicken to rich regional dals with cooking that is at once creative, challenging and sophisticated.

The room is almost as colourful as the menu; decked out in vibrant blues and warm oranges, the décor is as welcoming as possible. The menu is well priced, too, making now award-winning Manvaar easy on the wallet and the palate. The only possible downside is the Karama location: hidden down a small lane it can be hard to find, but maybe that's what keeps it so good.
