As a rule of thumb, any hotel that deems it appropriate to include an ‘at’ symbol in its name should immediately be crossed off any credible accommodation list and consigned to the airport hotel ranks. But—hideous orange signage aside—Siam@Siam is one notable exception.
While the slightly 80s exterior debatably misses the mark, the same can't be said for the interior, which is a far more current and stylish affair. In the lobby, think futuristic bare stone flooring and steel beams, offset by modern Thai furnishings in bold colours and luxurious fabrics—a bit 'Blade Runner' meets 'In the Mood for Love'. The theme continues in each of the guestrooms as cosy traditional decor mixes with ultramodern starkness, made all the more potent by the impressive backdrop of the city from the floor-to-ceiling windows.
