Prague is Europe's largest medieval castle, with a progression of invaders and regimes adding their own appendages, creating a rich complex of palaces, cathedrals and churches in the shadow of the main fortress' walls. Its political and democratic importance remains, with the castle now being the office of the President of the Czech Republic.
