In all there are 42 islands in Jamnagar but visitors are only allowed in Pirotan. These are virgin islands not open for public. For visiting this place, one needs to seek special permission from the forest department, customs department and the ports.

To reach this beautiful island, you can hire a boat that would pass by many islands along with way and finally reach Pirotan. The word Pirotan (originally known Pir jo thaan, meaning the place of the holy Saint Khwaja Khizer Alaihisalaam) is a marine sanctuary & national park. It is one of the rarest places of the world, where one can look at corals without having to dive into the water. The white sandy beach adds to the beauty of the place. Here, you can easily find puffer fish, octopus, jelly fish, star fish, colourful corals and exotic marine flowering plants.
