Yet another posh residential neighbourhood with a commercial heart, Rosebank can be found toward the North of Johannesburg and has some of the best shopping malls and eateries in the city. Frequented by local celebrities, art enthusiasts and fashionistas, Rosebank is one of the more tolerant districts of Jo’burg as it welcomes the gay community with open arms. The buildings lining its streets exude a very futuristic vibe and house some of the best high-end retail brands, cafes, bars and restaurants. You can even watch a nice movie in one of Rosebank’s many multiplexes or simply walk around its neat boulevards.

Shop the best luxury names at the Mall of Rosebank and pick up antiques at the Sunday African Rooftop Market. Grab a breakfast of champions at the Hyatt Regency and enjoy the most succulent steaks at the Grillhouse. Savour some champagne at Level Four and sip on wonderful cocktails at Marble. With several head-offices of international organisations, the Rosebank Management District and luxury hotels like Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza, Rosebank is one of the most expensive precincts in Johannesburg, closely following the heels of Sandton and Melrose Arch. This suburb of South Africa’s largest city is truly a tryst with the good life. Book a room in one of its plush addresses only if money is not a concern for you.
