Kiran calls Mumbai home, but is never far from her next trip. Her job involves zipping across the globe, but she insists it is hard work. She has checked into ashrams, lived with strangers in Europe, and tried her hand at extreme sports in Australia, etc., all in an effort to bring you back a story. In addition to the Times Group, she has contributed to National Geographic Traveller (India), Hindustan Times, Spenta Multimedia, The Hindu etc., where she recounts her globe-trotting adventures.
A sanctuary in the middle of a busy city, this rustic open-air cafe is set in the midst of a garden. You're surrounded by tall palms and green grass, while bird songs make for great entertainment. This is the ideal escape from the fast pace of Colombo.
On the drinks menu, you'll find everything from tea (and various tea concoctions), coffee, smoothies, fruit juices, shakes, to alcoholic drinks. The food menu features traditional Sri Lankan meals, as also continental and American fare. If you've spent the morning fighting traffic and making your way through crowded lanes, this is just what you need. At the Barefoot Garden Cafe, you can take in the lush outdoors, while still enjoying prompt service, and carefully prepared dishes which come beautifully served. Could you really ask for more?
