European flea markets have this charming vintage appeal to them and the one in Zurich is equally antiquated and delightful. Flohmarkt Kanzlei is the largest all year round flea market in the country and has everything from expensive hand-me-downs to collector’s items from the 19th and 20th centuries. Apart from the usual antiques and junk jewellery, visitors will be surprised to find a decent selection of electronics like cameras and radios. Leather bags, sunglasses, books, bicycles and homeware are also sold in large numbers. However, newer items are usually exchanged under the table. You can even sell some of your fancy belongings by getting a stall registered on their official website.

This market pops up every Saturday irrespective of the weather and is strategically located in Kanzleistrasse in the heart of Zurich. Try and go as early as possible so that you can grab your breakfast in one of the many classic cafes located in the vicinity. Alternatively, there is a nice stand within Flohmarkt Kanzlei that has excellent coffee and croissants. Even if you have no intention whatsoever of spending a ridiculous amount of money on potentially used items, visit this flea market as it is a great place to interact with young locals.
