La Valeriana is like Cusco’s little secret. The quaint bakery and café is tucked into an alley close to Coricancha (The Sun Temple) and is the perfect place to unwind after a morning of sightseeing. It is distinctly European and marks a departure from Cusco’s colonial architecture. Stepping into this little eatery is the shortest way to escape the hustle bustle of Cusco’s busy city centre. Head to their terrace and relax as you people watch. Order a cup of tea or coffee and grab a seat. If it’s a hot day we would suggest a tall glass of lemonade. La Valeriana is famous for its quiches and chicken and beef empanadas. However, if you have a sweet tooth and enjoy desserts, then La Valeriana is just the right place for you. The café specialises in sweet treats and there are a variety of treats such as flans, cheesecakes, muffins, and pastries on the menu. Drop by whenever you’re craving a pick-me-up.
