Sonia Nazareth is back from her second masters in Anthropology of Media from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. Now she can be found brandishing pen and camera on various travel, literary, art and research assignments across the world.
For a place with plenty of energetic local vibe and goods that stand firmly against the mass produced, Studio Souk ticks all the boxes. The clothing and home-accessories, arts, craft and food on sale are distinguished by the attention-to-detail that goes into their craftsmanship. What’s on offer is everything— from vintage clothes to the sweetest-smelling bath products, to lanterns using Irish linen, cotton and handmade paper. Adding to the experience is that you can meet and engage with the artists behind the products you buy, as they work in their on-site studios. A textile designer busy at the sewing machine, or a painter hard-at-work at her canvas are examples of the entrepreneurs and enterprise that Studio Souk encourages and showcases.
