Owned by the National Trust and arguably Belfast’s most famous bar, leaving the city without stopping here would be a cardinal error. The saloon dates all the way back to the 1880’s, and shot into fame as the setting for the film Odd Man Out. Once you’ve had your mandatory, inaugural pint of Guinness, you’re free to explore. And the appreciation that you express—at the exquisite mosaic tiles and carved ceilings, gas lamps and long granite bar—that hails from the Victorian origins of the place, is well-deserved. To go with the Guinness, there’s hearty saloon food served here as well.
