Another well-known type of Japanese is udon, a thick circular wheat flour noodle soup. The broth and toppings vary greatly by region and season. For example, udon noodles tend to be served cold during the summer and hot during the winter. Sometimes soba noodles are even combined with udon for a double delicious meal.

Mentsu-dan is widely recognized as home of the best udon in Tokyo. The noodles are soft but not soggy, the choices in broth are fantastic and the extensive selection of tempura allows for endless creativity. Grab your noodles, load up with tempura and veggies, then top it all off with the broth of your choice.

Recommended dish: Tempura and toppings are laid out in a line buffet-style, be creative!
