Brasserie Bodu is a restaurant, a cafe and a wine bar rolled into one and it is one of the most popular French names in Lucerne for all the right reasons. The steaks, escargot, foie-gras, grilled salmon and tarte tatin served here are all like brief encounters with the heavens above. The chocolate mousse is equally satisfying and so are the homemade french fries. While the atmosphere of Bodu can be a tad bit smoky, its cosiness cannot be ignored and you can sit near the balcony for a nice view of the river and major landmarks of the city. The decor of this address is classy with wooden chairs, pristine white linens and ornate cutlery. The hosts are welcoming and efficient.

Located adjacent to the Lucerne Town Hall, Bodu is a little tricky to spot and is perpetually crowded despite that fact. You should therefore reserve a table over the phone because the wait times can be terribly long. However, do keep in mind that reservations are available only for a maximum of 6 people. Do not miss out on this decently priced place even if it is for a simple cup of coffee.
