If your soul craves for cultural experiences along with the entertainment elements, then Mudra Cultural Centre is the place for you. You can experience Kathakali and Kalaripayattu shows. I used to think that Kathakali is only a classical dance form for entertainment purpose, but I was so amazed to see that Kathakali performance is actually a ‘story play.' Artists explained the story and meanings related to their moves in the first couple of minutes, which made me understand the performance to a large extent. Though Kalaripayattu is a martial art form that originated in Kerala, at the same time, it is entertaining to watch it. Mudra Centre usually runs two shows in the evening, one at 5 PM and the second one at 7 PM. The centre is a tiny place with no fancy entrance, stage and seats and hence, I request you not to judge a place by appearance. The shows are worth your time and money.
