The Odisha state museum has an excellently maintained collection, but it is the evolution of Odishan scripts at the Epigraphy section, the Patta paintings, and the Palm Leaf section that are guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on your mind. It offers a good overview of Indian, as well as Odishan heritage. The museum is open between 10 AM and 5 PM on all days except Monday.

The museum is located very close to the Odisha Tourism Development Corporation (OTDC) who organise sightseeing and packaged tours within and around Bhubaneshwar.
