Al’ Merca is a local gem, a small and unassuming ‘hole in the wall’ baraco situated in the lovely Rialto market square where you can sip on top quality local wines, prosecco and spritzers from only €2 a glass. There are no seats, but part of the experience is to stand out in the lovely square with the locals and enjoy the buzzing local atmosphere. The place serves tasty cicchetti made from super fresh and local ingredients including mini Paninis, meatballs and dried cod and tuna, and even horse meat if you are feeling adventurous. There are also great vegetarian options too like artichoke hearts and cauliflower dishes. It’s all reasonably priced too, so you can enjoy sampling lots of little dishes.
