Gianyar is good for those who want an active and cultural holiday in Bali. Gianyar is located on the East Coast not far from the laid back beach resort of Sanur and the popular inland destination of Ubud. Gianyar is one of the best preserved and most authentic traditional Balinese towns and attracts tourists with its cultural attractions like the Sukawati Art Market and the Gianyar theatre as well as temples, markets and traditional crafts and deserted black sand beaches. Most accommodation in Gianyar is in private villas but there are also some budget and midrange hotels, guest houses and bungalows here too. There are good local Balinese restaurants and warungs in Gianyar and the Bali safari and Marine Park are also close by.
