A lovely new restaurant in Ubud, Sage focusses on Mexican-style vegan cuisine but also has more international dishes. The menu is totally different from that of other places in Ubud, which is particularly refreshing if you are searching for a change. There are some of the best known Mexican staples, revisited in their vegan version, on offer as well as some healthy vegetable soups and salads. Some of the best things to try are the tempeh tacos and the cauliflowers fritas (fried cauliflowers). The pasta dishes are fantastic, in particular the butternut squash ravioli and the eggplant arrabbiata penne. It is also a great place for brunch. They have a great menu of gluten-free dishes too. The environment is relaxed and cozy with nice decor and the staff quite kind and welcoming. Prices are in line with those of the other restaurants in Ubud. Definitely a must try.
